Dear Irish Families,

It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you that the Bloomington Normal Youth Football League has voted to cancel the 2020 youth football season. This was not a decision that was taken lightly and it is something that has been debated for several weeks.

As many of you know, there is a great deal of continued discussion around whether or not to have high school sports this fall. The IESA has already cancelled their fall sport seasons. There are also recommendations from the IDPH that factored into the decision on whether or not we could play. However, the largest factor in coming to this decision was the need to protect our student athletes, coaches, and their families. The health of our IRISH community is more important than a single season.

For our 8th graders, we are deeply saddened that you will not be able to conclude your Varsity season with us. Many of you have grown up in our program and we were all looking forward to celebrating your final season with you. Good luck to each and every one of you as you continue your athletic careers. Remember you will always be IRISH!

For the rest of our families. We hope you will plan to be with us when we return to the field in 2021. If you have already paid, either in full or a deposit, you will be issued a refund within the next couple of weeks. You can also choose to have your payment used as credit for next year's season. This is your chance to put your non-refundable $50 deposit down to reserve your player's spot on the team. Some teams will fill up very quickl so don't wait.

This $50 is applied to the total. Without the $50 deposit, the player's spot will not be reserved so make sure to apply the payment online when registering. For Tackle - total payments must be made by July 18th 2020 in order to receive equipment. Full payment for Flag and Cheer are due Aug. 3rd. All payments must be made online this year.

Fees for this season are as follows:

Tackle: $210, Cheer $100, Flag $100

Also, reminder that your player's playing level will depend on his age as of our 5^th game of the season. This year that date will be September 26^th, 2020. Therefore, here is how you know which level to sign your player up for in February.

The player will be assigned to the level depending on their age below as of 9/26/20:

• Flag - 5 to 7 years old
• Bantam - 8 to 9 years old
• Juniors - 10 to 11 years old
• Junior Varsity - 12 to 13 years old
• Varsity - 13 to 14 years old (ALL 8^th graders must play Varsity regardless of age)
• Cheer - 7 to 14 years old (Up to 8^th grade)
